MR: May I come in doctor?
Doctor: Yes please come in.
MR: Good Day Doctor! I am Sameer from Cipla Critical care. (Shakes hand) Can I have a seat?
Doctor: Yes
MR: Thank you sir. (Sits down) I hope you are doing well.
Doctor: Yes I am good, thanks
MR: As you know Doctor, Cipla has always taken innovative steps in bringing continuous medical education initiatives, which has impacted the clinical outcomes positively. Today I am here to share one such new initiative that will help to upgrade the knowledge & skills of the para medical staff, who are important stakeholders of patients’ well-being.
Doctor: Ok, that’s interesting, tell me more about it.
MR: Sir, We have an exclusive program for the paramedical staff called “Disha”, which is aimed at improving the knowledge & Skills of paramedical personnel.
Doctor: Ok.
MR: Sir, Continuous education is an important tool to upgrade the quality of the medical procedures performed by the paramedical staff.
Doctor: Yes.
MR: For example sir, if hand hygiene methods are properly implemented in the hospital by the paramedical staff, the cross infection rates could be decreased by nearly 50%. I am sure sir, as you know this can make a significant difference to the patient outcomes.
Doctor: Yes I agree, and we do often conduct workshops and meetings for the paramedical staff, and it is important to constantly reinforce these habits & behaviors. But could you also let me know, what are the other topics that are addressed in Disha?
MR: (displays the Visual Aid) Sir, In Disha, we have a series of educational CDs for the paramedics with interesting academic programs and presentations, which covers various interesting topics, such as maintaining hand hygiene, Understanding and implementing the right ICU procedures and techniques, implementing the protocols for prevention and control of hospital infections, just to name a few.
Doctor: That sounds really interesting
MR: Not just that Doctor, We also cover soft skills training that aims in improving the behavior and etiquettes of the para-medical staff. As you know, it is very important to empathize with patients while communicating. A good hospitality is an experience that goes a long way in building the brand image and reputation for the hospital. Additionally, Disha, also focuses on other important issues such as laboratory management and bio-safety methodologies.
Doctor: I am quite happy to hear that you are indeed covering a gamut of topics in Disha and it is quite impressive.
MR: thank you doctor, your support in this endeavor will be valuable to us. We request you to give us the requisite permission & time to conduct DISHA for your paramedical staff in your hospital. Moreover, the participants of this program will also get certificate of participation. We would also like to have your kind presence to motivate the staff.
