Nagda, an industrial town in the Ujjain district, located in the Malwa plateau of western Madhya Pradesh in India is situated on the banks of river Chambal.
The Lanxess Nagda Plant manufactures and markets specialty chemicals for Agro, Pharmaceuticals, Dyes and Flavours & Fragrance Industries.
The plant primarily produces basic derivates of benzene, toluene, sulphur and chlorine among other complex products.
These are exported to serve the growing Indian and the world market.
There are 5 plants in the site spread across 25 hectares with most modern equipments. The plant also houses state of the art facility for Power Cogeneration, RO and effluent treatment.
Besides creating job pool for the local people, the plant ensures highest levels of safety and a world-class work environment.
PRODUCTION: The Lanxess Nagda Plant primarily produces Benzyl Chloride, Benzal Chloride, Benzo-Tri-Chloride, Benzaldehyde, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Acetate, Benzyl Benzoate, Thionyl Chloride, Sulphuryl Chloride and Sulphur Di Chloride among other derivates.
These high grade products are exported to some of the world’s leading agrochemical, pharmaceutical and flavor & fragrance companies including India.
The major technology is based on Photo Chlorination of Toluene & Sulphur, Acid Hydrolysis, Esterification & Condensation, Distillation and Separation in a large scale manufacturing set up of all the five plants at Nagda.
Spread across 25 hectares, the plant is equipped with large equipments like the Tantalum-Zirconium-Glass lined SS Reactors, Pressure vessels, Extractors & Separators, Big distillation columns with structured packing, Vapour Adsorption High Pressure Chilling Machine, Catalytic Converter, Boilers, Generators, E.T.P, Domestic Sewage Treatment Plant, RO-Water Unit, Cooling Towers,Tank Farm and loading facility of Export ISO Tank.
The Lanxess, Nagda Plant is certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The company has received various awards in the field of Environment & Safety.
The Lanxess Nagda plant saves natural resources through its new Co-generation plant based on biomass fuel; this substantially reduces the carbon footprint.
In addition, the company employs innovative techniques to recycle and reuse domestic sewage water for industrial purpose resulting a saving of 0.5 Million m3 / per year of the river water. The wastewater treatment plant ensures that the effluent discharge from the plant is pre-cleaned to comply with the environmental limits before releasing it.
The QC lab in Nagda follows stringent safety standards with the goal of zero work related accidents.
As an initiative to develop the green environment around, the company has planted several saplings on the world environment day 2010. Soon, additional 3000 saplings will be planted.
