This bilingual industrial training film was developed to simplify the complex process of Ultrasonic Testing for wind turbine blade joints and support workforce training across technical teams. Produced in both Hindi and English, the project involved high-altitude filming inside operational turbines, integration of engineering presentations, and professional narration to create a scalable training asset for engineers, inspectors, and maintenance personnel.
Supporting Technical Excellence in Wind Turbine Maintenance
As wind energy assets continue to expand across India, operators require standardized and repeatable training tools for critical inspection procedures. This project focused on creating a high-quality audiovisual resource covering ultrasonic inspection methods for blade Joint-1, Joint-2, and Joint-3, helping technical teams maintain consistency in inspection quality and knowledge transfer across sites. Relevant industry sectors included Renewable Energy, Wind Energy, Industrial Training, and Predictive Maintenance.

Engineering the Production Before the Shoot
A detailed technical recce was conducted at Andralek near Pune to understand turbine access constraints, safety requirements, camera positioning, and inspection workflows. This preparation minimized operational disruption while ensuring compliance with site safety protocols.
The planning phase focused on:
Evaluating safe access to a turbine approximately 75 meters high
Assessing confined-space filming requirements
Identifying lighting and camera challenges inside the nacelle
Preparing equipment suitable for industrial environments
The production team climbed the turbine's monkey ladder to reach the nacelle and inspection locations. Certain inspection areas restricted human access, requiring specialized camera rigs and lighting solutions to document the ultrasonic testing process effectively. The resulting footage provided visual context that traditional presentations alone could not deliver.
Approximately 35 minutes of raw inspection footage was captured, including:
UT inspection techniques
Equipment handling procedures
Blade joint inspection workflows
Close-up technical visuals for training clarity
Transforming Technical Content into Workforce Training
Raw footage was merged with client-provided presentations, engineering graphics, and reference images to build a comprehensive learning experience. This approach combined the strengths of Industrial Video Production and structured engineering documentation.
The production workflow included:

Editing into a concise 25-minute training module
Synchronization of visuals with technical explanations
Optimization for improved learner retention
Delivering Multilingual Training for Distributed Teams
To support wider workforce adoption, the film was produced in both Hindi and English. The Hindi version was also incorporated into WWIL's existing training ecosystem, extending the value of previous learning investments.

Creation of a parallel English version with corresponding slides
